East Windsor Partners With Watershed Institute To Clean Etra Lake
EAST WINDSOR, NJ — Over 347 pounds of trash and recyclables were collected at Etra Lake Park during a recent clean-up. East Windsor and The Watershed Institute co-sponsored the clean-up event, in partnership with the Americorps Watershed Ambassador Program, a stream cleanup on April 23.
Over 70 volunteers, young and adult, joined in the stream clean-up at Disbrow Hill Road.
Mayor Janice Mironov thanked residents for participating in the community cleanup effort to celebrate Earth Day.
“The purpose of this cleanup was to remove litter from our local watershed streams, helping to keep our water sources clean and provide for cleaner and more environmentally healthy streams,” Mironov said.
The Watershed Institute works with residents, municipal, county and state leaders, and local groups on a wide variety of initiatives and actions to preserve and protect natural resources.
